Do What You Love

Starting a new chapter in my life has been something that I have been wanting to do for a while now. I have been working and going to school full time for the past three years at a company that I love, but I never felt fulfilled. After I lost my grandmother I promised that I would live by her life motto, “Do what you love“. I think that is something that everyone can live by. Forget everything that you feel like you have to do and just do what you love. I am still in the process of finding out exactly who I want to become and what I am truly passionate about, and that is why I chose to quit my amazing job and focus on school and finding out what I want to do with my life. I think that sometimes life can take control of you and you find that instead of living in the moment you are just going through the motions. I refuse to fall into that pattern of life where I feel as though every day is the same and I am continuously coming up with excuses to turn down opportunities. I am an extremely indecisive person so it took me about a year to actually make the decision that I needed a break from my job. I think that the reason I took so long was because I worked for a fantastic company, I worked with some of the best people that I have ever met, and I was scared. I was successful where I was and I felt that if I left then I would come off as ungrateful or not dedicated, but those are just excuses to not do something that you are afraid to do. It took me becoming overwhelmed by the loss of my grandma, struggling in school, and simply just having too much on my plate to be happy for me to realize that I had to make a lifestyle change. The way that I chose to start living my life is to be more in the moment; I want to have the time to travel, to find my true passion, and to just enjoy the small things that I typically would not get the chance to embrace. Life is too short not to be able to take a breather and give yourself the opportunity to figure out what it is that will make you feel fulfilled. Follow your heart and embrace your true passion, everything else will simply fall into place.
